The ALWAYS-ON battery delivers the best performance and lifespan for the domestic and commercial battery market. It is a scalable and modular battery backup system that makes economic sense.
Genelli’s ALWAYS-ON is a fully-integrated battery backup system suitable for multiple end-users.
The battery backup only solution mainly consists of an inverter, an integrated battery management system and the battery pack unit.
The ALWAYS-ON battery range starts from a 3kWh to a 10kWh model, which is then scalable up to 60kWh. The versatile range ensures that we cater for all.
We can connect our battery storage solutions directly to the grid or your new or existing solar system or even have them operate in unison to charge the batteries for complete independence.
With a seamless 0.10 second turnover from the grid to the ALWAYS-ON unit makes it virtually impossible to know when you are running grid power or your ALWAYS-ON unit. With our WiFi-enabled mobile and web-based monitoring platforms, you can always see the status of your ALWAYS-ON unit wherever you are.
Genelli’s ALWAYS-ON is a fully-integrated battery backup system suitable for multiple end-users. The ALWAYS-ON unit is engineered to cater for residential, commercial and industrial use, optimised for African operating conditions. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack provides energy storage for solar, self-consumption, load shifting and general backup power.
ALWAYS-ON’s electrical interface provides a simple connection to any home or building. Its elegant and robust design achieves market-leading energy density and is easy to install, enabling owners to quickly realize the benefits of reliable, clean power.
The battery backup only solution mainly consists of an inverter, an integrated battery management system and a battery, which is charged by the power (AC*) from the grid (ESKOM) or a solar connection. In the event of the grid going down or during times of load shedding, the batteries will provide the stored electricity, converted from DC** to AC through the inverter, this will enable support to your electrical load requirements. The battery management system is a vital piece of equipment as it protects the battery from overcharging and or surge protection to essential loads.

SYSTEM LAYOUT OPTIONS
GRID-TIE SOLUTION
The most general electrical solution for many residential and business installations who receive their electricity supply from the national electricity provider (ESKOM). This is a basic installation that links the electricity supply from the grid to the inverter system which stores the electricity in the ALWAYS-ON unit and when required the ALWAYS-ON unit will supply the end-user with seamless and reliable electricity until the grid supply is restored. This is an ideal backup system for any residence or business that requires immediate electricity when the grid supply shuts down.
SOLAR SOLUTION
A solar solution can meet complete independence from the national electrical provider (ESKOM). A solar solution can supply a residence or business with enough electricity to maintain all electrical equipment during the day and also charge the ALWAYS-ON unit for night time operations or when the solar panels are inactive due to overcast weather and no sunlight being present. The integration of the ALWAYS-ON unit is the best step to reduce reliance from the grid and one step closer to create a zero-emissions home.
HYBRID SOLUTION
The sun isn’t always able to entirely cover your energy demand. A solar system is often supported by a generator set or a wind generator. These energy sources can make certain that the solar deficit is covered. Designing combinations such as these, which include several energy sources, is a complete independence system with a fallback option should one of the energy-producing sources not be present. Even when the alternative electricity production is non-functional or inactive one can then revert to the grid for alternative electricity should that be required.

PROCESS FLOW
We understand that energy requirements in Africa are unique and challenging. We assist our customers in identifying the areas of their business that will be affected by the adoption of new solutions and our ALWAYS-ON technology.
We offer solution design and integration for both existing systems and greenfield projects. We can work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team for high level, preliminary and detailed designs for feasibility studies or defined projects.
